Mikhail Domozhilov, a graduate of our faculty, is a Russian photojournalist, documentary photographer, and portraitist. He is a winner and finalist of prestigious professional competitions including NPPA, Grand Award HPA (UNESCO), Sony WPA, LensCulture Exposure Awards, Atlanta Photojournalism, the Alexander Yefremov Memorial Photojournalism Contest, the international competition "Direct View," the Andrei Stenin International Photojournalism Competition, "Point on the Map," and others. Since 2010, his work has been published in dozens of media outlets in Russia and abroad, and he has participated in exhibitions in Russia, the Netherlands, Canada, Malaysia, Georgia, Poland, and China.

In his projects, he explores various subcultures, open and closed communities, and phenomena such as nationalism, fanaticism, and heroism in modern society. He works across various genres—from classic journalistic photo stories to minimalist portrait documentary projects in conflict zones. He is one of the few photographers in Russia using a large-format camera for documentary work.

The experience gained through his assignments, including in hard-to-reach areas, forms the basis of his lectures, public talks, and photography workshops. He has conducted these at events such as Photoparade in Uglich, Photofair, MyWed Party, Summer School, Photo Expedition, Media Polygon, the Young Photographers of Russia festival, the Media Journalism Forum, the Russian National Library, the Belarusian Association of Journalists, and many others.

In addition to photojournalism and documentary photography, his professional interests include innovative education, curating photography projects, and research in photography as a medium.
