Частые вопросы

Dear prospective students! On this page, you will find answers to the most common questions about admission and studying at the Photo Faculty.

How many years is your study program?

The program lasts 2 years, from September to May, with a summer break from June to August. During the summer, first-year students work independently on a summer photo story... Defenses of both coursework and diploma photo projects take place in the last days of May, followed by the traditional showcase exhibition of the best works in early June. However, the Foundation Course lasts only 8 months: from October to May.

Please tell me, what time are your classes? (I couldn't find the schedule on the website.) And is it possible to study online?

All lectures and masterclasses for first and second-year students are held 3 times a month on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Sessions with curators are held on different days and times, depending on the schedule of the specific group. You can view all schedules on the Schedules page.

How much does tuition cost?

Tuition fees vary for different programs – from 7,500 to 10,000 rubles per month. Payment is made by trimester.

I really want to sign up for a beginner course to later successfully join a professional group. Please advise – when do classes start and who should I contact?

The course for beginners would be suitable for you. Applications are accepted until August 1. However, enrollment for the group may close earlier if it is filled before August 1.

Please tell me, is the tuition fee for the "Photography from Scratch" course the same as for the main course? Another question: is this a one-year or two-year course? Thank you!

The cost is the same. The course is two years long, and a diploma is issued upon completion.

If I decide to get a higher education after graduating from the Photo Faculty, will it be considered a second degree or not? Thank you in advance!

No. The Photo Faculty offers photography courses.

Is any certificate or diploma issued upon completion of the studies?

Yes, a non-state diploma is issued. However, it is valued significantly higher than diplomas from most other courses. Our Photo Faculty was founded in 1959. We have been operating for 66 years.

Please tell me, are there any age restrictions for students?

The Photo Faculty accepts students from 18 to 80 years old.

Please tell me, what kind of camera is necessary for studying with you?

If you plan to enroll in the Course for Beginners, you can purchase a camera during the course itself, after you become familiar with different types of cameras in the first sessions and can consult with your curator about which camera and lens you should buy for your goals and tasks. If you are applying for one of the courses for professionals, then any DSLR or mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses will be suitable.

I can't decide which curator to choose.

We allow students to transfer from one curator to another once during their studies if the program and teaching style of another curator suit you better. In this case, you can arrange with another curator to first attend any of their practical sessions in a different group to help you decide.
